Claim Your Identity as the Writer You Are
Life has a way of pulling us off course from writing. It’s one of those things that can be easy to surrender when other demands crop up.
And sometimes we just lose our way or forget who we are and what we truly want to be doing.
This workshop is designed to help you bring yourself into alignment with who you are as a writer.
This might look like coming BACK into alignment if you’ve gotten off course, fine-tuning your alignment with your writing self, or simply claiming your writer’s identity in the first place.

How the Process Works
During the workshop, I’ll guide us through a technique designed to bring you into alignment with your calling as a writer.
We will literally step through a process of exploring — and integrating — your writer’s identity at multiple levels, all the way from your surroundings to your beliefs to your overarching vision.
You’ll leave the workshop with a list of personalized action steps to take to cement what you’ve learned.
This is not a one-size-fits-all process.
While I’ll be guiding everyone through the same steps, YOU and your core essential self will be the source of your insights and actions, which means it’s all about becoming the you-as-writer you want to be.
Here are the levels of alignment we’ll be working through:
- Vision
- Identity
- Values
- Beliefs
- Strengths
- Actions
- Support
- Surroundings
Match Vision to Action
It’s easy to say “I need to find time to write” or even, “I’m too busy to write.” But the truth is that we make choices all the time about writing or not writing.
When we make the choices and align ourselves at all levels of our being with writing, it’s much, much easier to keep writing as the priority we want it to be.
Before our workshop, I’ll send you a set of simple instructions and a worksheet to help you get the most out of the experience.
Compile Your Action Plan
After we complete the process, you’ll gather what you’ve learned into a set of action steps for yourself to take.
We’ll also have time for Q&A.
Workshop Flow
We’ll meet on Zoom and I’ll walk us through the process.
You’ll want to have your worksheet ready, and a place where you can stand up and walk through the steps (like I said, we’re literally stepping through the process). If for some reason you cannot do this part — it’s okay! You can visualize yourself moving through the steps.
It might help to have a clipboard or some index cards to write on.
Details
The workshop will be held on Monday, April 28 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. Eastern) and will run for approximately two hours, including some time at the end for Q&A and refinement of what you’ve learned.
The workshop WILL be recorded, but for best results, I encourage you to attend live if at all possible. I realize the time may not work for everyone though, which is why we’ll be recording, and will send the recording link out within 24 hours of the workshop.
